Olivia Ainooson is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Geography, Sustainability, Community, and Urban Studies at the University of Connecticut. Her research interests are in urbanization, human-environment interactions, sustainable cities, environmental justice, climate change, natural hazards, and health. Her work examines how natural hazards, particularly flooding, and aging sewer infrastructure contribute to combined sewer overflows (CSOs) and their implications for environmental quality, public health, and community resilience. Through interdisciplinary research, she seeks to inform sustainable and equitable policies and practices that promote urban resilience and improve the health and well-being of communities across the globe.
